Curriculum Development

The research faculty of the centre attend Women’s Studies curriculum committees and have been engaged in the planning of syllabus taking into consideration the requirements of the students and teachers.So far the members of the research staff have, with considerable alacrity, responded to over fifty requests made by various educational institutions from different parts of the country to frame the syllabi in Women’s Studies.Within the SNDT Women’s University, the Centre has helped in the framing of the Women’s Studies component of M.Sc. (Home Science) course, as well as the Women’s Studies papers of the Economics and the Sociology Departments at the undergraduate, post-graduate and the MPhil levels.RCWS has prepared the course outline, identified relevant teaching material and co-ordinated the preparation of the teaching /learning material for an inter-disciplinary paper entitled Women in Changing India introduced as part of the compulsory requirement of the undergraduate teaching programmes of the University. It has also undertaken the task of formulating an entire post-Masters correspondence course entitled, Women, Culture and Society to systematically provide college teachers and development workers a grounding in the theory and the praxis of Women’s Studies.
