Action Research Project at the J.J. Medical College and Hospital to Prevent Sexual Harassment in Workplaces/Educational Institutions. 2002

Maharashtra State Commission for Women. Jointly undertaken with  the India Centre for Human Rights and Law, Mumbai

Under this action research project the RCWS conducted nearly 25 gender training sessions at the hospital with the help of activists groups. The study sought to gather information on the extent of sexual harassment in specific work/educational locations to raise awareness about the detrimental effect of such harassment on women and to initiate measures that would counter their occurrence. Since work places and educational institutions are hierarchical with iniquitous power equations, the study was undertaken in the JJ Hospital and Grant Medical College through new methodologies.
